i have just purchased a big vale head i have taken it to the machine shop for them 2 check it out they have found a hole in the inlet port it has gone through the pushrod hold is it possible to sleve the pushrod tube then weld the hole up and then smooth it out in the port. Then can i drill the hold for the pushrod to go through

i recon it is possable. but i think it might start other proplems ferther on like cracking the head in other places like near your valves and that is more serious.
if i were you i would discard it and get another or a recon. i am going for a recon stage 4, 1380 next year costing over £2000 so if any problems start i will phone them up and see what they can do. if the engine comes (does come with) a warranty. of not i would get my local engine chums on the case. being "Cylinder Rebore" in nuneaton.
what do the engine machine shop say? and could they fix it?
is more of a job than wleding it and drilling. as a cylinder head is precision cut in everyway.
and just simple thing like welding and re drilling could make it worse.
