hi, now this may sound dumb but have been trying to find out the differences between say a 1998 mini cooper and a 2000 cooper sport? any info much appreciated :D

Engine wise nothing. If your talking about a 98 Cooper sportspack the suspension set up is the same. The only difference is the interior, full black and silver leather seats and turned ali dash and other flashy bits like ali door pulls and gear knob as standard , exterior wise its the silver coloured roof and decals.

think i am confusing myself now....actually meant between a 98 mini cooper sportspack and 2000 mini cooper sports? found the ride in the 2000 cooper sports firm but not bouncy like the 98 mini cooper sportspack...are there any suspension differences? thanks

Ohh. one might have Koni dampers, don't know which, but that's not like it's a big job to change...

I think both the sportspack and the cooper sport used Koni lowered adjustable dampers, so there should be very little difference in ride quality, but no two cars feel the same anyway.
