Our mechanic changes the oil every six months. Every time he does an oil flush. i am just wondering if this is really necessary or even good for the engine/gearbox?

i thought i heard it stripped the mechanicals a bit bear to be using all the time  ?

thanks
James

so they're OK to use. What price would you say was right for them? do they usually cost £10 to buy?

(i'm a little concerned that the mechanic is using items which are costing way too much..)

i think the negine flush in halfords is £4.99 so sounds like he uses expensive stuff.

Thanks. i think we'll have to live with the price as he (the mechanic) uses the motorfactors next to him for all his bits :P

so he has a trade account, don't get ripped off.

im my opinion its a waste of time anyway, regular oil and filter changes are all that are neccesary
