Hi all, im new to his forum..was driving along the other day and put my foot on the brake pedal and nothing happened, it pushed all the way right down and had no sponge, literally just bang against the back. Am I right in thinking that there is a brake fluid leak?

It's possible, yeah. Also it is possible that the compensator/regulator has gone, the exact same happened to me. It is located just below the brake fluid reservoir on the bulkhead and has a few fluid pipes going to it, check around that to see if it's leaking any fluid.

How old is your Mini?

Check the fluid level in the reservoir, look at the inside of your wheels for signs of leaks. also look at the link at the top of the brake pedal in case it's come loose or the master cylinder is leaking.
