Have been working on this for a few months there is loads of pics in the other albums, heres a link to a preview of how the fronts shaping up.
Got the bonnet extended and one of the wing done to meet the new bumpers, still quite a bit to do, some pics of it here

Interesting choice of front bumpers! Looks like a good job of fitting it on tho.

What is the front suspension you got on there???

Replaced the old rubber cones with 6" springs from Faulkner spring company.and spax shockers

i think thats the first time weve seen someone put a new mini front on an old mini on this forum, she certainly looks different

Did you buy the springs as a kit or did you have them specialy made?

good idea bring the moden look to the old girl but sadly not to my taste it would be good to see it when its done

I'm not atually sure what I think... I'm impressesed at the work.. and if you get the hatch in the back will certainly be a Mini Bini... lol..

One for the shows, and probably quite a lot of debate..

A stock spring from here http://www.dfaulkner...ard_springs.htm was used (not dear) but I had to custom make a bottom adjuster to accomodate the 6" spring but basically it was a circle of 5mm plate with a 20mm bolt and nuts to make up an adjuster, if your going to try it, and because of where the pivot point is on the suspension, and my local college tested for a spring rate of the old rubber cones, you need a spring of between 2200 lbs/ inch up to 3000 lbs/ inch depending if you want a soft or hard setup. of course u also need to run a thread down the centre of the 20mm bolt so u can compress the spring to get it in.

the bonnet looks well thin like that though. could see it looking good once resprayed.

wow that does look individual, may not be to everyones taste but i like it!! that's what the world needs, some one to build a car to give us something to chat about. well done and keep up the good work. post more pics when it painted!!!!
