From the start of my preject I wanted 13s on my mini but I've completely gone the other way. Now I really want some 10s.

I have disc brakes in the front of my mini (1986) I know I need to downsize but I dont know where to buy the brakes from or what ones are best to buy.

If possible could you guys post some pics of minis with wide 10s (deepdish) and arches. Around 10 x 6 or 10 x 7.

Any help and useful information/ problems encountered will be much appreciated.

You can either go for a cooper s setup which will be very expensive or you can fit slimline 4 pots and 7.9" disks to you 8.4" setup which will be even more expensive. Also you can do more unorthodox convesions like my mk2 fiesta calipers and they are cheap (compared to the others)
I'll get a picture of my mini on 10s tomorrow and good choice by the way they are ace!

if you want disk brakes under 10 then you will have to go with cooper s disks
there are other brakes but a second hand set of cooper s disks should be the cheapest .

allthough there is a ford set up conversion on here

How much should I expect to pay for a set of brakes - eBay have some for around £100-200 :saywhat:

the way i'm going to do it is buying new from minispares.

if you're already running disc brakes then all you need to buy is:
pair of S callipers,
pair of 7.5" discs
pair of S drive flanges
and some pads.

comes to about £300 i think. i'd prefer to pay that than £200 for a f**ked set off ebay that need refurbing!

I went the whole hog and went for 4 pot alloys ( converted from drums ) but I'm impressed with the conversion Pickup76 has done, and maybe worth a serious look at, especially as the pad area seems HUGE.

Yeah - I also well impressed with Pickup76's conversion. The boy did good! And nearly stuck himself through the windscreen when he honked on the brakes. he he!

This is mine on 10x5" super slots and they are too wide for the standard archs. I was running 10x6" wellers before i did the tracking and it was miglia wide at the front (the only downside of fiesta brakes... or plus side if you like the wide style)

Just going to steal the thread a bit. Is there any info on the fiesta brakes on here?

Cheers.
