Heater Vibration!

i'm considering taking the heater apart to have a look and was wondered if anyone has managed to fix this in the past, and what they might have done
i guess it is the 'flap' which directs air either to the car or screen - but it's hellish noisy when it vibrates like it does!
thanks

i'm not really looking forward to taking it apart so any 'education' on this would be good

thanks

check under the front of the heater....
you should see two rivets that hold the workings of "the flap" in place.
one of mine was missing, quick and easy fix without having to take anything apart.
if its not this then look for any other missing rivets or strange holes that have nothing in them

Use a bowl to catch the run off from the hoses, you then just need to undo 2 screws holding it to the dash rail and slacken and unhook the nuts at the rear. Unplug the loom from the switch, pop the air hoses off and you can lift it out.

yeh, i removed it to have a look. i've decided not to take it apart, but running without it is fantastic. it's so much quieter! i'm leaving it out until until i feel i need it
join the hoses rather than block them. The heater is little more than a box refurbishing is easy enough too.

Don't want to be a spoil sport but isn't that an MOT failure? I'm sure there's a requirement to be able to de-mist the windscreen (or is that on the the SVA test?).
