hi all, seems to be lots of you doing bike engined minis at the moment, can i ask what sort of cash the stuff from Z cars is costing?? i got the Dvd and it seems like there are endless list of extras. All so has any one here driven one???? Im toying with the idea, either that or a Robin Hood 2b kit. sorta fancy getting away from minis for awile.

Depends on what you want to do...if just for the road or are you going to do trackdays, hillclimbs or both !
Don't go cheap Caterham lookalikes the are total rubbish (in my opinion) .
Having driven ( and owned) some fairly exotic machinery over the years I'm going for the Z cars factor as it gives almost top of the range type Caterham performance with the Q-car appearance of just another fast good-looking clasic Mini

I can't seem to edit properly....I meant the Caterham lookalikes are not good not caterhams themselves

Got to admit I went through the same thought process... But it was the fun factor of being in a mini that will just blow most exotic machinery away that swung it for me! Can just imagine the look on some old boys face when his 355 is being left by a mini thinking was the hells going on!!  You can almost imagine him at the Ferrari dealership the next morning asking whats wrong with his car! :nugget:

I think it depends what you want to do with it. If its going to be a serious track weapon then it would probably have to be a caterwesthoodcost (take your pick)

But if its a fast road occasional track car that will suprise a lot of unsuspecting drivers then the mini wins hands down!!

right
well i think the kit car is tempting me more, im put off the z cars affter watch some dvds and the front end seems skitish, always liffing wheels, mite be fun but doesn't make a quick track car or a stable road car. and im wanting something to do track days in.
