Hi All
I currently have a 998 with a manual box. I have recently bought a 1275 non s block, with 30 thou oversized pistons crankshaft, camshaft & flywheel.
I have also sourced an unleaded 12G940 head.
I would like to fit this block / camshaft / pistons head etc to my current gearbox- is there anything wrong or stupid in me thinking this is OK?- the gearbox I got with the block is the same DAM number as the one on my car already , and at least I know all the bits are in my current box, which is nice and crisp to use.
Assuming its just a case of take off the 998 block etc, and plug in the 1275 block, what else do I need to do?
I propose to put on a new exhaust manifold, I have a Howley inlet manifold with a single SU. I have a correct water pump.
Will my current mechanical fuel pump and dizzy migrate across to the "new " block ok?
Should I change the current single timing chain to a duplex chain also?
I'm on a bit of a budget so dont want to spend hundreds more on the old girl at present.
Thanks all for not laughing at me...
cheers
col
