Hi Folks, ive finally got a min' and have started the old 'derotting' stage. It will have Blade motor in to start with as i happen to have one in the garage but thats quite likely to go pop i think, so i shall build around that idea and make easily replaceable if it does happen.
It won't be a proper zcar as i can build most of it from scratch but there are only so many ways that you can put tube into a mini so i guess it will be similar. Oh, im also toying with making the whole rear lift as a tailgate but we'll see. If anyone has seen it before and has any sort of pic, it might spur me on to do it.

I won't bore you with all the usual rusty hole pic's but my mate took these while playing with his camera.
1, we thought they were quite arty, lol, and 2, it just goes to show where those lil' sparks jump to when your grinding "so keep those goggles on kids, you just never know"
(and if anyone mentions my belly, i'll never post again)

Unfortunatly, its not a fireproof belly as i have found on many occasions :D . I'm going to make all the cage, subframes, etc myself as i have all the gear to do it and its not that difficult really. I have some friends that have done them many times for racing purposes so i reckon between us, the internet and plenty of tea, we can get it right.

The front end is now as rot free as it can possibly be and has a coat of rust prevention on it, all those little useless brackets are gone and that flimsy cross brace is gone too. I read somewhere that there was alot of strength in that brace but i cant see it myself. There will be a cage brace across there anyway so its best off out of it.

Ive been told to keep the cage as tight to the body as possible and fix it in more places as it really stiffens things up. Thats obvious really but can it be too stiff? Opinions would be cool.
