you can fit them yourself but you will need to get your tracking looked at anyway! Just save yourself the added cost of paying for them to be fitted too!

Yes you can fit them yourself. It will effect the tracking, but then so does having bent ones.

Quick answer, seperate the two issue.

Q) Can I fit them myself?
A) Yes, you can, to do so jack car, remove road wheel, remove the nut, (but not the bolt) holding the rod to the hub, then under the front undo the tie rod. Now the bolt will be easier to remove. Withdraw the tie rod. When you put it back together I suggest using new bushes, available from ebay for pennies, and make sure you clean and lightly grease all threads.

Q) Will it effect tracking?
A) Yes, it will, but this doesn't mean you should pay someone else to do everything, once you've got the parts changed, drive to local garage/tyre place and ask them to check the tracking, and adjust if necessary, will minimise your spend, and as long as you drive gently, and not more then a few miles you shouldn't have any problems, or suffer undue tyre wear.

Edit, I'd started replying first, but it took longer to type... rubbish...
