hello guys, wondered if anyone could help me!
i bought my mini 1 week ago, it didn't come with a book or anything, and the previous owner didn't seem to have a clue, i don't know what some of the switches on the dashboard are!!
it might sound silly but i'm not really clued up about cars! i took a picture, sorry it came out shaky, just wondered if anyone could help me identify what the switches do!

Attached File  DSC_0007.JPG   238.5K   4 downloads

i've tried to find out on the internet but had no luck!

i know that the one on the far left is the choke, then i don't know what the red and green ones are! i know the black one is hazards and the lightbulb is lights, but then whats the big one at the far right?

also could someone explain to me the heating system and how to work it? when i flick the on switch and put it to car and screen etc.. it blasts out cold air, how do i get hot air? does the engine need to be running for a while to heat it up? and how to i get the air to come out of the little vents by each front door?

sorry if i sound a bit like a spaz!! :o

thankyou in advance for any help! :)

The knob far left is the choke.
Next to this is the brake test switch, if it iluminates at any point you will have low brake fluid, it is generally considered best to press it once in a while to see if the bulb works.
Next to this is the rear window de-mister switch.
Next to this is the hazard ligh switch.
Next to this is the light switch.
And last but not least is the heater cable, if you love heat you will need to pull this and then opposite for cold air.

Hope this helps, oh and it goes from left to right nearly forgot to mention!

And the face vents either side are for fresh cold air only, not hot air.

By the by, your Mini can't be a 'Sky Rose'. I expect it says Mini Sky Rose on the V5 but iIt's either a Mini Sky (blue roof) or Mini Rose (pink roof). They're both identical spec, just different coulur roof and possibly trim. Mint examples of these are very hard to find so if yours is any good, I reckon you should try and keep it that way. And if you're planning any mods, always try and make sure they are reversible so you can restore back to original if you want to sell it on.

Happy Mini Motoring :)

Hiya, yeah it says Sky Rose on the v5 but its a rose i didn't know which was the official name, but i guess it'll just be Mini Rose then! It's in okay condition i think, but its already been modified when i bought it, its got a pink and white checkered roof and none of the original decals or badges, but i plan to get it back to original!
