My car feels unstable/floatie at speed (a little scary)!
I have recently had new shocks (ajustable protech), new rear cones, new knuckles & new genuine tie rods.
this is the first drive today on the new tie rods...so I'm thinking it could be that. however they are non ajustable genuine ones so they must be fitted correct.
do I need an aliment or tracking?
if so what will this involve exactly?
Thanks
Craig.

I'd take it steady and give it time to settle first. New tie rods would effect the tracking. You could have the suspension geometry checked, but with standard parts only the tracking can be adjusted.

yes know the feeling. get the suspension checked it only cost a few bob. do it with a mini specialist he will know what you need.

I'm unsure what the dampers are set at, would it be unstable if they where on the softest setting?

it will not help. suspension is a personal thing some like it hard and some soft.
try turning the fronts up to half way and the backs one quarter. do not go to hard on the front or you will bump around the corners and it will be dangerous to others. as I said get the suspension checked if you think of the wheels as table legs all four must be on the ground other wise your table will wobble.
thats what your mini is doing now, its money well spent.

If it's wandering and "Floaty", it suggests too much toe-out at the front. Get the tracking done.
