i have an old gearbox with 2.9 fd in it which i want to use on my car.

the gearbox has been stored in a shed, full of grit etc.

it wont select gears. how can i remove the pinion gear from the gearbox? have tried locking the gears in the box but i still cant undo the big nut in there. ta
