As a short term fix while you are looking, put a think smear of Vaseline around the edge should seal it until you find a new rubber.

Any family planning clinic will tell you not to use oil based lube on rubber - but as the seal is knacked already I don't suppose that matters - plus ky jelly on your roof may be a little embarassing.

You ain't likely to get a new seal unless someone like Woolies does them - which I doubt. Best bet either full new sunroof, or brand new second hand seal from the scrappers.

Is your sunroof just a glass flick up one? If so, it's very unlikely a new seal will be available from anywhere. Cheap replacement ones can be had from the shows for about 20 quid. You might find that you could pop the seal out of one of these and replace yours without changing the entire unit - as they'll likely be the same.

I'd still get down to the scrappers first.

Or try a Land Rover dealers, because I'm told that either the early 1990's Defender or Discovery used the same type of sunroof seal as many a Mini including the 1990 RSP LE.

I.E. a Tudor Webasto Sunrise type of glass sunroof.
