Rang them up this morning as I wanted them to fit my twin 1.25 carbs and my LCB to my 998. I was greeted by a snotty woman and they basically said that they would not fit the carbs to my car! I thought that these carbs I had bought were off an early 998 cooper and so there shouldn't be a problem with fitting them to my 998 :nugget:

All together i've spent about the best part of £200 on rebuilding these and that doesnt include filters  Surely not a waste of money

Please please help, a very unhappy,
Jam2005  :gasp: :(

But all said and done, there is no reason why they cannot be fitted to any A(or A+) series. If they wont do it, do it yourself ?

Never touch P&L personally. If you can get something off them, you can get it much cheaper else where. Sometimes at half the price

I was just going to take it all to P&L but their charging £35 per hour + VAT which I think is a bit steep. Ideally I want to take them to a mini specialist because half of the one-man-bandit garages round here are rubbish.

Cheers for the offers on helping me. I'll have to have a think :cheese: I really don't want to sell them but I suppose I'd have to if the fitting couldn't be done

There's no reason twin 1.1/4s shouldnt fit. Its just a new manifold (and I guess you are running an LCB already, as you obviously need a different exhaust manifold too.then just bolt it up

The woman believe it or not is the friendlist person there.

I went down last month for the zues fastners for my front and the 2 guys took *yellow human water* of my mate, his car, my name etc and was just been snotty.

P&L is expensive, over-rated parts and next to the roughest estate i have seen. How dare they take *yellow human water* of me.

have never had problems with P&L. yeah thurnscoe is rough as a rough thing, but everyone there has always been really friendly and helpful with me. giving me directions of places to get shotblasting done. the owner had a good look round katie, and gave me some pointers of work that needs doing. yeah somethings maybe expensive, but i got a set of really good replacement lights for £18, and also bough a carpet set. and they threw 2 cans of adhesive in for nothing. maybe they just like clubmans. i was going to ask jammy, wether he was not aware of the "depreciating" p**s taking nature of the native yorshire wit, but as he is from rotherham, that won't be a problem.
Jam...surfblue garage is just of j26 on the M1 (nottingham), it will be half an hour away from you tops. the guy there jeff, is a friendly chap, he knows his minis, and big Les who works there is a bodywork wizard. with regards to prices, you get what you pay for, surfblue isn't the cheapest mini garage ever, but they do know what they are on about, and they are honest

i was thinking of having my car reshelled at P&L but they just didn't seem to want to know, where not talking small money talking over 6K! and they just didn't care. so i went to PGS minis in melton and i was there for hours just talking with them about all sorts.

They're the best kind of people the ones who are willing to just chat and not try and sell you stuff.
