Another super hot day (Sunday), another collection of old & not quite so old at our local hillclimb. As usual I met some really nice chatty mini owners.
Have put up a few pictures here and a link to a photobucket album for anyone with time to browse. I probably can't remember everything,
but I can look things up in the programme if you want.

PS I've left the reg plate details on since the cars are all on public display and if someone didn't ought to be there, well, tough.

Nice spot, eh?

Let's get the sad news over first then. Vince Stone from Dorset found a bit too much front-wheel grip on the last hairpin,
bounced the 1380 off the inside bank and rolled. Nasty experience for him -- his first real prang -- but a bit of T-cut
as we say and it'll be fine :xxx:

Got to say this was my star car :gimme: :dozing: ;)
Renault Alpine. Drove one once :xxx: It was knackered :xxx: But by god it was fun :xxx:

Anyone know anything about this early Morgan I spotted in the public car park?

Maybe this will tempt you to look further

Not forgetting all the bungles

And this fantastic Jag was tucked away put of the sun ... anyone recognise it?

Hope you enjoyed the show. Yes, there was racing going on but I'm not very good with moving targets. There are a some in the
photobucket album of the hill itself. On the opening event in 1958 a Renault Dauphine "trounced a covey of BMC
types" including A35s :o a Riley and a Standard, according to Autosport.

I'm assuming O_O it's an Allard, Ju. There was another one doing the hillclimb. Did you notice I slipped in some more pix of your Cooper Harley?

It sounds like a 1000 cc twin with no silencer. Add an echo in the woods. And some poppenbangen. And an eerie silence when
the foot comes off the gas pedal and hits the brake. It's co-driven by Guy and Bella Murray. In the programme it says he's from Cornwall
and she's from London, but they both left in the same car, towing the Cooper H. So at least they're on speaking terms, although when Bella
spun it on this hairpin last May I doubt if Guy would appreciate what she said.

Owwwwwwwww, I want to go!!!! Jealous. O_O Sounds incredible.

Blood relatives or nay? :D They could still be in the same car without speaking....... :( Who was driving the car? Mebbe t'other was being dropped at the station.....

Who built it? Guy? Bella? A megalomaniacal fantasist hermit in a shed in the woods?

Hey O_O

Yeah I'll let you know next time. I wasn't in the mini but no doubt when I got next time, I'll tell you. :( My Dad and I parked in the top field then walked down the hill, then I walked all the way back up to get my camera, didn't take it so got all hot and sweaty for NOTHING.

I do have pictures of the last time I went, and I've got an AWESOME picture of the Cooper Harley power sliding! :D

Check it out here ......... Wiscombe

Cheer :P
