Hello! ;D

Just a quick question...

My mini is a 1987, are the indicator flasher unit and the hazard flasher unit the same? My left indicator has stopped flashing, so ive stuck my hazard flasher unit in and it seems to have solved the problem, but I was just wondering if its ok to leave it in?

They are different - as far I know anyways.

The indcater one is a small square cube, the Hazard is a cylinderacal barrel shape...
Or at least they are on a '88 Designer.

You can replacements from HelFruads or Minispares alike...

The hazard warning light flasher unit (relay) is more heavy duty as it has to run all the indicator lights together.

Yeah if you have a look on the side it my tell you

Think my indicator says 2x15W
whereas my hazard one says 4x15W or something similar

If you know very basic electrics, replace them with a 3 pin indicator relay from halfords, simply cpnnect the 2 wires from the original flasher unit to the 86 & 87 terminal, then arth it to the body via terminal 30, result, much more stable indicators that flash at a constant speed.

I'v never been a fan of the standard fit flasher units

Got it sorted today, thank you!

Yeah, the indicator one has 2x on it and the hazard one has 4x!!

Turns out the rear bulb had come out so wasnt connected! Put it back in and its flashing, so fingers crossed its fixed!
