Hey

Anyone know if there is a way to make a headunit(I got JVC KDG342) increase volume according to the speed of car, or noiselevel would be even better. That would truly be awesome. So if noiselevel is high it will increase the volume etc.

New volvo's have this function, pretty worthless there though. would rock in a mini.

Normally this is a built in function on the headunit, i know Pioneer have it pretty much standard.

Otherwise I'm afraid you have to use the volume control ;D

I actually find it really annoying because it fluctuates to much and is often especially loud at top revs in 3rd.
Probably likely it's down to it being set up badly or my crappy speakers delivering awful and distorted music lol :shifty:

if the volume is going up with your revs, then it is wired wrong. the speed sense wire needs to be connected to a speed pulse 'wire' which mini's dont have, not your rev counter which is what it sounds like for you to have this prob.

clarion did a unit a few years ago, one of there top of the range models, with a twin face. and some of the pioneers, again top of range models do have this function.
to get this to work on a mini tho, you would need a speed pulse generator running off your cable speedo that gives out an electrical pulse. generally used for sat nav installations.

Oh right ok, would make sense to how it doesn't help me and just annoys me! Thanks

How about sticking a switch in the sensor line so it only works in top gear?
