hi i a have 1995 Mayfair spi with early spi cooper engine in it was running fine till last week, what has happened is that part off the loom earthed out on the exhaust :S so burnt a few wires which i have replaced so then i tried to start it and .... nothing then i changed the fuel pump relay which i also know controls the starter motor to work... still nopthing. the thing i can't understand is everything else works like ignition lights come on and immobilizer still works so do lights etc
i was told there mite b a fuse in the actual loom i had a quick look today but found nothing. thought it could be the ecu but everything else works .
cheers lewis

Where the engine loom is connected to the battery terminal on the starter motor, the firs 6" of that wire is a fuseble link.
Make sure there is 12v on the brown only wires at the large connector of the relay pack, nothing there and the fuseble link has fused.
