I can't post pics at the moment, but I've had the tank out a couple of times and it is quite awkward to get back in place, there almost doesn't seem room, but if you keep teasing it in, eventually it will go.

ok, just had another look, can someone confirm, is the hole on the bottom of the tank supposed to match up with the bracket, of does the tank sit on the floor on the lip, in which the hole is on?
Bit confusin i know, but ive tried now lining the holes up and the tank defo does not want to sit at that angle.

Lol, no thats quite a common mistake that a lot of people (me included!) make the first time they refit a tank.

The hole in the tank isn't supposed to line up with the hole in the tank mounting bracket, in fact if memory serves the two holes usually end up about 3" from each other!

The hole in the tank mounting bracket is for the tank strap to mate to - with the tank sat at a 'natural' angle, or really the only angle at which it will fit, the tank strap will line up with the hole and captive nut. You then have that really long bolt which is used to secure the tank.

Hope that helps!

The seam of the tank sits on the boot floor against the bracket at the wheel arch. If the tank neck is in its hole and the tank sits on the boot floor, its in, just fit the strap :P
