if only money ment nothing.... we would all have en40b cranks!!!!
worked it out last night the total cost of the engine and box build is almost exactly £2000. pretty steep, but not so bad when u consider it would probably cost you more than that if you just ordered all the parts for an engine of this spec....
hoping its going to go as good as it looks!!!! a lot of works gone into this!
the 1275 died, so ive had to finish the 1380 now!!

AAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
stupid smelly rain!!!!
its all in, everythings done, just needs the electrics connecting up and the rad fitting.
a few hoses and wires need sorting before it looks its best.
but its getting there. with any luck the rain will be gone in the morning and itll be on its way!!!!
its taken a lot of time, and muchos money, but i think itll be worth it!

AAAAARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
after spending 2 hours trying to work out why i have no oil pressure today.... the battery now wont turn it over fast enough to start it
ive got a charger on, but the CR must be pretty high, as its not keen on turning over fast with the plugs in place....
im also unsure if ive got the dizzy 180degrees out....
i know the rotor arm should be close #1 at tdc.... but there appear to be two tdc's.... if that makes sense, obviously theres only one. but after 1 rev of the engine, the rotor arm has only gone through 180 degrees, it takes 2 revs of the engine to get teh rotor arm back in place :S
so im really not sure if ive got it right....
i really need this to run today, as ive my 6th form prom tonight!!!! and i need a funky car!

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
after yesterdays oil pressure problems everything is sorted now
primed the pump again and it was off!!!! spent a while trying to start it, fiddling with the leads and such like, was about to give up when i decided to turn the dizzy way round further than i thoguht it should be, and thats when it started to make noises
advanced it a load more, and suddenly it jumped into life! sounding like a plane!
made it into town and to the prom, only to find the clutch went half way home, due to a leaking slave:(
going out to fix it now
ill post pics later

excellent stuff there mate, know what you mean about oil pressure...
dont drive her too hard remember, first 500miles minimum below 3k, dont forget to re-torque down the head too

another update.....
found te clutch problem, my braided hose was irritatingly touching the earth strap, which obviously got hot when trying to start her up, it heated the braid, which in turn killed the rubber inside the braid....
so its in my girlfriends drive for the weekend, while i wait for a new hose to arrive from minispares!
got a massive exhaust leak, which is down to the face of my centre brand being seriously warped.... going to change that on monday
other than that it runs and drives great, only other problem im having it starting it!!!! it just WONT start unless its jumped/bumped, my battery was getting tired on the 1275, and with the increased CR of the new engine, it just wont turn it over anymore.... ah well.
off to silverstone this eve until sunday, to watch the gp, then ill fix her up properly and get some proper pics
running in is boring
