using a cobra on mine at mo, last 2 cars had toad.
i have fitted plenty of cliffords in past, and personal choice would not have one even if given to me.
a lot of quality alarms on market, at a lot cheaper prices.
if not fitted correctly, could end up with loads of probs afterwards.
all tho some of there add ons a very good.

why do you want a clifford????????

i would strongly advise against clifford, howevers some will disagree, but like i said personal choice.
heres a list of much cheapoer alternatives to go for, but all are high quality alarms.
toad
gemini
cobra
scorpion
auto watch
sigma

for a non cat 1 dont pay more than £150 fitted, for a cat 1 (thatcham/insurance approved) dont pay more than £200 fitted.

i am a member of another forum based in lancashire, non mini. and i charge £120 fitted for non cat 1, and £150 fitted for a cat 1 to the forum members.

so shop0 around and you should get a good price.

thatcham category 1 is an insurance approved alarm with built in immobiliser which your insurance company will recognise as being a high quality alarm which as been tested by thatcham. and generally give you a discount on your insurance.

thatcham is an independatn testing centre, which run numerous tests, and any security device with this status will have had to pass thier very stringent tests.
any fitter fitting these alarms must also be thatcham approved otherwise the alarm will not be 1. thatcham approved, and 2 will not be garanteed by the alarm company.

oh right so what do you recommend

for good reliable quality, and easy on wallet i fit gemini to all my customers unless they ask for any other alarm makes.

7 years fitting gemini, and only 3 faults.

2 of them were the dizzy customer being stupid f**ks

if you need the alarm to do extra functions, then a bit pricier, but a lot cheaper than clifford, go with either the toad ai606, or the ai606 interactive.

toad ai606 as 3 extra channels, to control for example boot popper (with extra module), windows up (with extra module), windows down (with extra module), engine start (with extra module). etc. (at extra fitting cost)

ai606 interatcive all the above but with text alert and text back to car, eg lock/unlock from your phone, and text messages if any thieving scum break into your car you get a text, also online tracking. both work on 'pay as you go', no subscription you just as it says, pay as you go.

i would be willing to come to you, but i would need an extra £50 to cover juice.

ie. non cat 1 would be £170
CAT 1 £200
TOAD AI606 £280
TOAD AI606 interactive £380

let me know

i paid £450 for a Clifford 650 alarm with central locking and uprated sensors all over my car about 2 years ago...nowt has went wrong apart from the doors not being linned up stopped the central locking working. Other than that its worked about 30 times in my girlfriends dodgy houseing area and the few times the locals down my way have got a little to nosey...

if fitted 100% correctly, then they are a very good alarm, but i think they are very over priced. and i personally dont like them.

yeah no probs to wire to an existing alarm, the remote kits take a neg/neg input, so almost any central locking alarm will operate the kit.
micro scan are ok, but dont like the shock sensor part on them. i have just taken the micro scan talking alarm off my clubby. only fitted it because i caught to kids messin near my car, and i happen to have it lying around. but all the little bastard kids on my street kept kicking there football againsty my car to set the alarm off. took it off and fitted a cobra instead, cobra alarm cost me nothing as i took it off a customers car.

unfortunately mate, to come to you would be a 407 mile round trip, which jus wouldnt be worth ahile coming down to you, where as tobias is only 200 mile round trip and if he agrees, i should be suppling ang fitting an alarm as well as fitting his central locking kit.

i try my hardest to fit for any one and every one, but understand i need to have a limit. 400 miles to do a £40 job is just a little too much for me.
