Hi,

I've got a a 1993 Cooper 1.3i, since I got it I've let it go a bit, and its a bit of a sorry sight and sound at the moment, as it has a few rust spots and constantly squeaks :D
So I have decided that I am going to sort it out and make it even better than it was.

But the first thing I need to do is find a good mini friendly garage in or near Colchester, Essex. I had a garage but when the battery kept draining they said it wasn't the alternator and kept charging us for replacing the battery with a better one, but when I changed the alternator over the problem stopped, so im not going back.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: Also has anyone got a ballpark figure for the cost of a respray, im going to treat the rust my self and replace the door sills, but then I will need a respray because there are small rust spots in quite a few places and i think it would look very patchy if it wasnt all done..

I have posted this on the colchester forums aswell, but as these were busier I thought I may get some other suggestions aswell.

Thanks

I'm sure there's a place on the Hythe that has a few mini's about, not sure what they do, but they may be able to advise you as to where to go!

Definantly interested.

Just been calling round to get some quotes, one said a respray starts at £2000 so I laughed and hung up.
But another said that if it came to him ready him paint and I had treated the rust, that it would be £300 + VAT.

Could I Have there number so I could give them a call, I want it the same colour, and also wanted a quote for treating the rust aswell, as if I did it I doubt it would be perfect.

Thanks
