ahem... anyway its a 1981 estate HL with a 998cc engine, the colour is given by the dealer who sold it as "champagne" dont know if thats the official name or not.
the main reason i went for this mini is firstly it was quite cheap (if a mini can be such a thing) and also the originality of the vehicle.
it has managed to retain:
original seats
original interior trim and carpets
exterior bright work (though most will have to go through rot)
original engine (the serial numbers match from the original dealers sales reciept)
original dunlop spare.
jack and wheel brace
still got its original service book and manual both stamped by the dealer who sold it new.
original lucas spotlamps.
Not all of these things are a positive.....the chocolate carpet for example is really going to have to be replaced for example but on the whole i like the retro feel of the whole vehicle.
As for plans....
the original engine is staying although at some point its coming out and getting re-built for a bit more power 50-60bhp will do fine.
gearbox needs to be stripped and seen to at the same time....baulk ring is worn on second although it is perfectly servicable to drive for the time being.
various area's of rust need to be addressed although surprisingly their is little on the crucial area's of the bodyshell just classic area's such as by the battery tray and the leading edges of the sills and the footwells.
anyway enough talk.....pictures.

ill try and keep this updated with my progress...
