iv only just found out that there are different spark plugs out there so was just wondering what type i needed for my '89 mayfair with a 998cc engine

and

are oil filters all universal or are they like spark plugs, different ones for different cars?

hahahahahahahaha

i dont know what im doing wrong here then because when i search sumat it gives me bogus and, take spark plugs for example, tried searching that an i got results for boot lids etc :)

2 types i believe cartridge type where you just replace the element in the cartridge fitted to earlier cars IIRC. And the cannister type whick is a complete unit just screws into the oil filter housing. Yours should be the canister type and you dont need to get anything special a Unipart item will do just need to find yourself a part number!

Sorry i meant a unipart number if you want to get it from a local motorfactors rather than pay postage from a mail order place. Just go in and say you would like an oil filter for a an 89 mini and they should give you the right one! :thumbsup:

or...

go to halfords, go to spark plug bit, and look up Rover mini in the book, find part number, buy parts, think it's BR6ES, but do not quote me, it'll tell you in their book.
Same with oil filters, I think your car with have an oil filter cannister, look it up and buy the part.

If you get confused ask the man behind the parts desk.

Any motor factors will be able to supply the parts too.
