Soz... off topic and no help whatsoever, but when did MED finish their 8-port? last i heard they where making it into a 7-port because their exhaust ports on the 8 port version where appalling. We need answers...
appalling? im guessing you'v seen one then? im guessing not.. they made less than a handfull apparently.. most of them went to japan.. they decided to put the 7 port into production as it proved to expensive to produce the exhaust manifolds for a decent price for the 8 port ( below £400ish quid) which im sure most people wouldnt be willing to pay so they decided to go for the 7 port so it can use a standard lcb making it a more affordable product..
Oi Behave! Steve showed me and a mate the 8-port first hand when we where there last october, when he said to me it was a 'prototype'. He was also the one who said to me that he didnt like the exhaust ports becasue of the way they where shaped - which on said 'prototype' was a bit like a swan neck inlet. He may have changed them since then, i dont know. But he said to us that he was changing them to 7-ports because he didnt want to change the valve positioning like the ardens.
Dont get so defencive, i was simply asking a question, because as i say, the last time i spoke to him he was binning the 8-port idea.... ya' burk

To be honest i think there'd more potential with the 7-port version, it doesnt matter how much work you put into porting those exhausts on 2 and 3, they're so far away from the valves and they've gotta go round the pushrods. By the way, if you dont mind me asking, how much did you pay for it? is it competitively priced against the arden. I love MED and everything they do, and Steve is a great engineer and a lovely guy - i'm sure too that they put a lot of effort into developing that 8-port, but dont be naive in thinking its MED's idea, or maybe not even MED's castings.... the Elder 8-port has been around for years
