Hello. Just registered.
I'm really keen for my wife to get a modern mini (maybe even a cooper s) to replace a MGF. She really doesn't like the idea of having to look 'where the radio should be to see what speed I'm doing.'
I'm hopeful that there is an aftermarket solution to this, an extra speedo that can be put next to the rev counter.
It sounds like a really silly problem, but I'm hoping someone else has overcome it in the past!
Many thanks

Modern minis have the speedo in line infront of the wheel (3 clock dash) standard.

We'd be looking at something like a '02 - '54 reg BMW mini.
All the one's I've seen have had the large centre speedo and just a small rev counter on the driver's binnacle.

Failing that, you could get something like a Talex Lite, which is a GPS Speed Camera detector (not a laser 1) which also shows speed? Just an idea? They are very good too, we have 1! Show you where Mobile sites are aswell as fixed cameras

BW MINIs specified with the factory sat-nav have both a speedo and a tacho in pods above the steering wheel, or as said above the digital display on the tacho can be set to read road speed.
