We have had our sky upgraded today to Sky+ and the bloke has left out old box but hes taken the card out the front, where can we get another card so we can have the box upstairs aswell as out sky+ downstairs?
would this work ok with the correct cables etc? or would we need 2 subscriptions?

we have multiroom and the cards have to be programmed to the boxes, so without getting it from sky / getting them to "match" the card to the box i thin kyou may struggle to get it for free :D

it would work, if you had a magic eye. as the signal would be haved if you split the cable, so it wouldnt work. not sure where you get card from, i think there programed for each box,
. check ebay for old boxes!!

Hiya
You could always check ebay for a card as I brought one for a friend abroad for about £20 last year. It works where he is in Bulgaria without paying any subscription although he uses an old sky+ box but it doesn't allow him to record. Hope this helps.

you can phone sky and get a free to view card which costs around £15 and lets you watch all the free to air channels... but you only get the free ones and the card is paired to your machine. IF you get multiroom for £10 per month, you will get all of the channels you have on the new box on your old box too, but as bumgle said, you need to make sure the LNB has more than 2 outlets... when they did ours, they gave us a 4 way LNB.

At home, i have got the sky hd box going into an HD AV reciever then out to every TV in the house. sold the old box on ebay!!!
