Anybody know of anywhere to get a decent priced door skinning tool from? Frost want £40 plus postage, so anything cheaper than that would be nice.

Found these on google - look a good way of doing it. Shame you can't get em over here yet.

They're *******, Get a good panel hammer and a flat dolly, does a much nicer job in the right hands.

In 18 years as a panel beater at Aston Martin Ive never used a 'skinning tool'
use a decent hammer and a flat block of steel

A panel hammer and a dolly. You can get in there if you're careful, but do a little at a time, don't bend it back fully in one place straight away, as it'll crease the skin. Same method for door skinning really. I did a guide in the FAQ's.

We reskinned the doors on my van fine with a hammer and dolly. I just didnt think there'd be room on the A panel one. Thanks Peter.

i have used a panel hammer and dolly before but find using two dollies much easier flat and mushroom dolly in place of hammer as the extra weight works well. never had aproblem and have seen the result of the skinning tool lots of dents down the outside and streched lip on the inside (ripples) the trick is not to bend to much all at once go 45 then 90ish then nice and tight.

As per my thread here I ended up buying one of those Skineeze tools.

I just placed my order as normal and it was sent to me here without a problem.

I'm yet to try it out, but it looks good. I should get time to use it in a couple of weeks.

Ed.
