Hi Dan
I have the same tool as the one in the photo. All I can suggest is to have a cuppa and read the leaflet that comes in the pack.
Then practice- I used about 6 feet practicising- the copper tube is not that expensive.
cheers colin

Manufacturer's website?

Not the same as mine, but general points...

De burr the pipe end,
Clamp the pipe solidly, I put the tool in a vice.
Getting the correct length of pipe to form the end on is important. Instructions would help here.

Put the pipe in to right size hole, clamp tight, so the top of the piupe is flush with the surface of the clamp. Put the correct size die into the hole, put the clam over it and tighten it. You need to do it again with a different die if you need a double flanged end. It is possible to get a good end with those, but not too easy. The bench mounted type are best, I have a bluepoint one, cost about £100 but it's fantastic.

Got mine from machine mart, I did a couple of practice runs before I did my first one, and to be honest, I get some really good flares, make sure the everything is straight before flaring.

im not sure what you mean here, the brake pipe is 3/16" and all the other dies are bigger so how can you use a different die to finish the flare?

You get male and female flares, looking at an old brake pipe or 2 will make it clear. The females are made by making a male then using a second die to push the centre down to make the cone shape.

That type of tool works fine as long as you clamp it in a vice and don't rely on the butterfly nut that they come with. The pipe tends to slip through if you don't get the clamping tight.
