I have got a single 12" Pioneer TS-W304C, 600W (max) 300W (NOM) and a Sony XM-440NX 4/3/2 Amp. will these work together? also, im lookin to spend under £150 on a head unit, any ideas? another thing, my sub is an inclosure sub and the recomended box size is 1.2cuft, can it be larger or smaller, how leniant is it and does it really matter? please help... :w00t:

yes that amp and sub will work together.
The box can be smaller, although others will say it will sound cr@p if its smaller but i'v got a 12" and only takes up half my boot!! But if you go bigger the bass will just be saggy and horrible.
Regarding head unit, 150 wont get you much (1 paid 350 when mine was new) take a look on some websites which i'm sure other users will post you, you might be lucky and get a reasonable h/u with 1 or maybe 2 pre-outs.

Agree strongly on that although Kenwood not one of my choices, Pioneer the best i'v had, will be staying with em till JL bring out souce units. (quite a while!!!)

if you fit the sub in a smaller box it will sound tighter, if the box is larger it will sound deeper, however the box size specified by the manufacturer shouldn't be changed more than about 10% otherwise you could potentially damage the sub.

with what youve got there you'll have a fairly good sounding system, after all its a mini and there aint exactly much room for umpteen million speakers

that box size would be fine for a 12inch sub

rite yeah u should bridge that amp to power a sub. on't forget to budget atleast £30 for cabling etc...

this Hu is a great deal for the price and has all the feature u may need to set up a system and for further upgrades if u wish at a latter date such as:

LPF/HPF
3 pre out
EQ
all the the usual mp3 etc...

http://www.caraudiod...fdd107d0d6d8629

I now it's a bit over budget but as I said that bit more will get u alot more and u won't need to upgrade it for a while, becoz believe me when the ICE bug bites u will be upgrading.
I wish I hadn't wasted £50 on a budget jvc cd player only to use it for about 2hours before I decied to upgrade to a nice Pioneer DEH-P80MP. :w00t:

You'll need to build an enclosure that suits the sub. A 12 " sealed should be about 1/1.5 cu ft. Playing it in the parcel shely without an enclosure "infinite baffle" will probably damage it.
