Hi,

I need to know if I should fit the seam covers before the respray or not? I think I should perhaps fit the clips only and then push on the painted seam covers afterwards to get the best protection but I am worried the paint would be scratched when pushing them on?

The guys about to paint it suggest pushing the clips on after respray then fitting the covers but i would think the sharp clips would scratch the paint and then I would have the same problem pushing the cover on. If I fit them before sending it to the bodyshop there will be no paint underneath the covers at all.

Should the body shop paint the seam, then fit the clips and covers then paint again?

Any help appreciated.

Luke

I suggest having the car sprayed then fit the clips and seem, if you spray with the clips on, when you take them off, you will see where you haven't painted. It wouldn't matter about scraching the paint as the seam would cover it anyway wouldn't it?

Paul.

spray them off the car and then when the car has bee sprayed fit painted clips and then fit the seam strips! Wouldn't hurt to waxol the inside of the strips before fitting them either :shifty:

Thanks, I think paint car, fit clips, then fit painted covers with waxoyled insides is the answer.

I am still a little concerned that the Minispares covers I have bought seem a little tight (even without clips), perhaps I should open them up slightly to make sure they fit properly before sending them off for paint.

Cheers, Luke

That took about 2 minutes. It's easy to use if you read the guide thingy.
