On the couple of occaisions that we have had some "summer" type weather, the oil temperature has risen to 130/140 DegC during continuous motorway type driving. Handbook says 150 is maximum and normal running between 90/120.
My plan would be to fit an oil cooler with a thermostat so oil only goes through cooler when at higher temperature?
PS - Water temperature stays within normal running band (mid-point on gauge).
PPS - minor oil leak becomes majot oil leak when oil is at high temperature >

Here you go. You need a take off sandwich plate from a Rover K series engine, or, just buy the kit that Minisport sell. Minisport also sell the shorter oil filter

Thanks, do you have any other photos of the engin bay as it looks like you've moved a few things around giving, what appears to be a lot more room around the engine?
PS - Looks very proffesional.

lol, thats not my engine bay, thats a Miglia racer engine bay
Fitting an oil cooler on an MPi is tight, and to be honest, not really worth it
