my rally cars on a Q plate. It was built on the rover development SPI shell and built up from parts, weather or not they were new parts i do not know...doesnt bother me though...although some people dont want Q plates, My MOT test is tested as an early car and my emission test is a visual one, pretty good call being rally car as i can tune it how i like

That's interesting, I don't think I've seen anything in writing about emissions testing Q plated cars. Do you have an original engine or chassis number? Things like emissions & construction regulations (fog lights, seat belts etc.) are the only real differences. The bizarre stigma that devalues Q plates is illogical.

I haven't actually got an engine number that belongs to my current engine, I wonder if I ought to try and blag a bye for emission testing? :)

Yep, nice relaxed MOTs for Q plate cars.

Vehicles having a Q plate registration when presented for MOT are to be treated as follows: For emission purposes only, all these types are to be considered as vehicles first used before 1st August 1975. For all other testing purposes they are to be considered as being first used on 1st January 1971
