iv been building this for a while now, and iv been dreading the day that i finish it and have to fork out 2-3k for insurance, the best quote id previously had was from performance direct, £2700 OUCH

im 21, but i wont have the car on the road till im 22 when ill also *touches wood* have 2 years no claims... so iv done the quote as if i was 22 and had 2 years ncb

iv just had a quote, everything declared, for £554.06 from a company called sureterm 4x4... though confused.com (so i assume i can get it even cheaper if i go direct)

:) IM SO HAPPY :)

by the way, iv written spec as a 110bhp 100lbft 1380, kad 4 pots, uprated standard height susspension, stripped out interior with bucket seats & harnesses, 12x6 mini lights, lightened drive train, 5 speed box, perspex windows, fg doors, boot and removeable front end, alarm... no imobaliser, stored in a locked garaged and driven for <5000 miles per annum social & commuting and fully comprehensive. I also put a value of £7000 on the car

theres hope for us all lol

If I was you, id get quotes from specialist insurers like Adrian Flux and Footman James to see how they compare. Then you can get an agreed value for all the money and time you have put into your project :)

Sureterm didn't like me having a non-standard air filter on my car! :)

Their customer service is fantastic though!

Congrats on the quote! :)

Make Sure they offer you an agreed value, even if you have to pay a small amount more to do it, because otherwise if you come to make a claim and you dont have an agreed value in place you will only be offered scrap value, and after all the time and money you have put in that would be such a hard blow to take!

:)

Join TMF+ and you'll get a further 15% off with Sureterm! :)

Also try Hagerty Insurance if the Mini is going to be your second car.

I did a quote with Flux for Alfie when I had him, 1293 stage 3, expensive alloys, roll cage, buckets and a cf flip front...

£560 for the year :) At the time, I was 19...

Then we found out that Rosie was pregnant and I never got to finish the project :)

Give them a try though......
