now its decided not to do anything other than make a clunk noise wen i try turning it over,im gettin no ignition lights yet it was still trying to turn over?
does anyone av an idea what i could try,i labaled everything up wen i took it all apart so nothings changed as i put it all back together as it was,
its trying my patience but the worst thing is im having to drive my girlfriends corsa while my morris is havin surgery!!!!!

1 battery fully charged and mounted properly
2 fresh petrol
3 earth leads fitted.
4 electric connection ie battery- starter so on
Have you got petrol in the carb? take a plug out is it wet? is the ignition correct, leads on in the right order have you a spark?
have you set the timing up wrong?

i had the engine timed up at mini technique while i was on holiday now im back all i had to do was fit it in the car n re-connect everything n get her working,
i cant get the markings back round to tdc on the pulley, as rad and oil coolers in the way,is there any way to do this as when im tryin to turn the car over so the markings line up its not happening
the starter motor is a brand spanker as i swapped a sportex exhaust with cherry bomb for it
still not getting an ignition light on the dash tho nor a oil warning light when i turn ign key on before cranking
im just very confused haha
might just go get drunk!

Lack of any power at all indicates two things at first.
** your battery ist kaput!
** you've wired the solenoid up wrongly, loosely, or the earths involved are not secure and solid.

on starter motor iv got all cables with eyelet crimps connected to big terminal with batt lead, another cable with large spade connector connecting onto a larger connector and another smaller terminal with nothing connected to it,
iv got a cooper s dizzy thats got a spade connector on the side of it,i think that goes to the "-" terminal on the coil??or will it be earthed through the engine then onto the body work?
iv got new earth strap from batt too butt using old earth strap to inner front wing u reakon i might need one to bulk head aswell as iv not put that back on as it wasnt shiney looking enough!
still getting spark tho and batt turns engine over like a good un
the ign lights must be something loose as oil one came on yesterday then went away again n iv not seen him since
