like panelbeater said its not that hard if you take your time and are pretty good with a welder, i wouldnt trust a bodyshop to do it id only do it myself then you know what standard it has been done to.

is welding on the inside of the seem a necessity? or can you get away with only welding externaly?

if i was goin to de-seam my car which i will do in the near future i would definetaly install some sort of cage to compensate

Depends,... if your welding is good enough, then you should be confident that you're getting good penetration through the panel, But plating is a good practice to apply and is some extra peace of mind. Plate what you can get to (which is essentially just the back end seams)

I would definetaly install some sort of cage to compensate

A cage is a good idea in any mini but i certainly wouldn't see de-seaming as a reason to fit one... unless it's been done very shoddily. With blue tack and bean tins :)

compensate for what?... If you weld it up properly which do you think is stronger? something that has no seams, or something that's seamless.

thats a point i guess it all depends on how good your welding skills are, how strong it will be

mr. v says do a small section a t a time, to hold the car panels in place. like 6 inches, cut of, then weld up.

also it takes of 40inches of frontal drag!
