if i was goin to de-seam my car which i will do in the near future i would definetaly install some sort of cage to compensate

is welding on the inside of the seem a necessity? or can you get away with only welding externaly?
Depends,... if your welding is good enough, then you should be confident that you're getting good penetration through the panel, But plating is a good practice to apply and is some extra peace of mind. Plate what you can get to (which is essentially just the back end seams)

A cage is a good idea in any mini but i certainly wouldn't see de-seaming as a reason to fit one... unless it's been done very shoddily. With blue tack and bean tins

compensate for what?... If you weld it up properly which do you think is stronger? something that has no seams, or something that's seamless.
thats a point i guess it all depends on how good your welding skills are, how strong it will be
