home spraying is the BEST!!!!!

the mini looks AWESOME dave!!!

i had no idea you were so close to me as well, im just outside torpoint, so the same sorta distance as rich is

me and a mate did mine over christmas, did it totally in evenings after work/college, took us 2 months to prep it, working till 9/10 every night, replace panels, fit the flip front, etch prime it, and flat it so it was PERFECT.

his dad then sprayed it for us (being an Ex-sprayer)

im actually very tempted to do bits of mine again soon, as ive done lots of mechanical work, and there are one or two chips!

how are you still alive after using 2pac paint?

i wanted 2pac, but the guys at hex holdings said you couldnt use it without airfed breathing apparatus, the celly fumes were bad enough!

how can you polish 2pac? surely if its laquered you can only ever get it 'clean' and polishing will make no difference because ur just removing laquer and not taking it back to fresh paint?

Yeah mate, the 2pac was pretty harsh

Im going to use G6 rubbing compoud with a Mop to flat it off, then using the G10 liquid mop it to bring the laquer back out in it.

what colour did you do your mini? Im afraid my paint was a little thin and its pretty easy to chip, so i will blow it over thicker next time.. maybe later in the year.

Thanks for all the comments everyone, appreciate it loads

Finally a mini thats near completion before its rotted away :P

i used a devilbiss gravity fed gun for mine (£70 from hex holdings)

i did mine flame red again, using celly paint.
we wernt keen on doing it again, so used LOADS of paint. i think it had 3 litres of red for the shell, obviously before mixing ith thinners (so more like 5 litres went onto teh car!)
and another litre for the roof, so its pretty thick!

it had about 4 coats of primer, and about 5 or 6 coats of red and white.

im planning on respraying mine next summer i think, ill get the engine out again, and teh subframes off, and give it new floorpans, as thats the main thing letting it down now!

looking awesome dave! ill have to see it in the flexh before i go to uni in october!
