Earlier in the year I changed my son'd Clubman Auto to manual.
When I go around to sending off the Log Book they had it for 2 months. Spoke with them today and they are sending it out with the name change but they say I need a leter from the manufactures so they can alter the body type?
has any one gone through this before? can you shed any light on the matter?
thanks

Bunch of numpties
.
Ask for the name of a supervisor or someone who you can deal with directly to sort the problem out. You'd think working at DVLA they'd know what an auto or manual gearbox is and that Austin Rover ain't around no more. I suppose you could argue it's still a Clubman Automatic, but it just happens to have a manual gearbox. The type of transmission isn't recorded, so I don't see why you'd need to notify them, appreciate you probably want things clear for insurance etc.

I had a similar problem when changing from auto to manual many years ago. It took me a few attempts to get it changed. After altering the V5 and sending that back I eventually had to alter that plus send a letter explaining what had been done. It was changed eventually but wasn't as easy as it should have been!

Not the same thing but I changed my logbook to show my car now was a clubman as it now had a clubman front. the logbook showed the car was a mini city 1000 E. It was fun and games but I sent them pictures of the chassy number and the new engine number. They initially lost the forms altogether, the second lot I sent, as I kept copies of everything, I made sure I sent recorded delivery, then confirmed they had received them, got a name of the superviser who I called once a week until she finally made me take the car to be inspected. The inspector couldn't see why they had made me do that, he confirmed the car was now a clubman, and 2 weeks later I got the new logbook stating austin mini clubman 1275Gt.
I was chuffed, it took two and a half months.

So the Model is Clubman Automatic, it's just a name. I don't think you can only drive Mini Mayfairs round posh bits of London
I bet you wouldn't have the same problem if you changed the engine as the box tickers have a box to tick for enjuns.

When i did mine i sent the logbook back with new engine number and crossed the "auto" out on he logbook.
They sent it back as a Mini Mayfair 1275 Auto
which was never produced!!
Not bothered doing anything since.... will have a nother attempt when I drop the 1330 in

We have had the same thing, 3 times I have sent the V5 back, once through our local DVLA office. The assistant(sp) Highlighted the word manual and wrote on the top in bold letters, I still have an automatic.
So what do you say if you get pulled over for a vehicle check??? its your colleagues that are numpties???? lol
