what will it take to get my mini to rack the 0-60 sprint down to this magic number.

is it possible with a 'normal; a-series, or is forced induction or engine transplant the only option.

what will i need? huge weight loss, 1380? 1440? 848? hyabusa? bi-turbos?

also, with that time, what bhp and torque would i need? (obviously, this depends on weight, and maybe a small amount of streamlining.)

mid six second 0-60 times are achievable, with about 120bhp and upwards.

the key thing is getting good traction so good sticky tires and a good suspension set up, oh and a good driver to launch the car properly.

It seems to me to be a bit of a pointless question then.

But in standard trim, and with a 3.4 FD, a Mini would need about 120-130bhp and at least Yoko A008, or A032R tyres.

umm... or not.

2WD and one turbo will easily see you hit 0-60 in the 5 region (with the right set up etc etc)

Is that the quoted time for a boxster? If it is, i would imagine it wouldn't even reach 7.5 seconds because it was probably tested on a rolling road in perfect conditions. So therefore the mini would be faster if it could reach the 6.4 mark :D

shave some weight, fit an R1 engine and run some real sticky tyres - no problem at all. :D
