Drove from Luxembourg to Camden Thursday, and had a relatively decent journey mini wise - just a throttle that started sticking - still haven't managed to get the throttle body off to have a look at what's causing it - I'm guessing something to do with stupidly high ambiant temperatures on the journey... Getting into London from Dover took us 3 1/2 hours - thank you M25.

Off to Goodwood Festival of Speed on saturday (very late morning as
had had a huge bender in camden on friday) to find the mini massively
over-heating. huge traffic and having to stop to let it cool down every 6-7
minutes. fan not working. A bloke walks past as I'm stopped on the pavement for the fifth time near putney bridge and asks what's up. turns out i'm 500m from the london mini centre... 1 1/2 hours later, and a true star of a salesman (no mechanics in on saturdays) has fixed the beast! airbox clips had been rubbing up against the wiring harness and rubbed through the fan wire. thank you so much - a class act! :D)

Goodwood FOS was magic!!

Back home now.

now just got a sticking throttle to fix....

Good to know the London Mini Centre guys looked after you.

I have had my Mini serviced there for the past 2 years and each time they've been great.

Really friendly and knowledgeable about minis.

For London, their labour rates are some of the best value around - so a great combination all around.

Thanks guys!

'andrewinlondon' popped in yesterday and let us know of this board.

Glad I could be of assistance Gareth. Fortunately we weren't too busy on the sales front at the time.

Still think your sticking throttle could just be the cable/ linkages? Spray the area to the right of the throttle body where the springs are with plenty of WD40 and see if that helps. Otherwise I'd suggest a new cable as it's likely to be corroded and/or fraid inside the outer sleeve. You could take this off and have a look but if you're going to go that far then replacing it won't hurt at the same time.

Regards to you all,

Grant
