i have almost finished restoring a 91 mini which started life as a studio 2. except, the only part of the entire car which remains unchanged is the front subframe. this is because it was a cat D and was reshelled and because i have upgraded almost everything including engine over size to gaz adjustable suspension and so on. I have spent a lot of time and money and want to protect my investment so i have looked around online for quotes... bearing in mind this car is only for fun and is not a daily user.. I googled my search which lead me to go compare. com. i answered all questions honestly and declared all modifications. the conclusion of the quote was that not one insurer was prepared to offer insurance based on what i had declared. Has anybody else had similar experiences and more importantly have any recommendations for insurers. I am 38 with a clean license, i have no endorsements.

When I contacted Autotrader for insurance for Git (was quite modified) they said the mods were covered but didn't need a listing of them. Give them a call

You need a Mini/Modified/Classic Specialist insurer.

I rebuilt my car a couple of years ago 1380 stage 4, nothing standard, £250 for a year... when i fitted nitrous it went up to £400 but still cheap for what it was.

Adrian flux are great and if you join TMF + you get 15% off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
