Verns union jack flag is something special :( Not like any other union jack flag ever :(

Vern wouldnt be Vern without his union jack flag

exactly, an airbrushed piece of art is not the same as flat, harsh blocks of colour :(

I fly a Devon flag on my aerial for 3 reasons - 1 because it's where I live, 2 because it's a bit different and 3 so I can find it easily in car parks and at mini shows.

nothing wrong with patriotism i like the union flag to me it conjures up memories of being a kid... 1977, bunting and street parties, Jumpers for goal posts and all that.. silver/graphite on black it works for me

Personally I don't mind them, ok the stick on one's look tacky although I do like a white roof and black flag. If I was to go for one I would have to get it airbrushed like vern's that is just lush :)

I am htinking of putting one on mine as patriortism over here is huge. although it is a mini made in Oz so may be a contradiction in terms. I see lots of BMW MINI's with the on and on the wing mirrors etc and i have to wonder if they are all brits? i doubt an American would drive round with a Union flag on their car.

So as it is a an Oz car with a brit owner but living in the states i thought this could work: http://www.minispare...amp;prod_id=531 kind of like teh British inside trying to get out, as although it was made in Oz it is still really British?

Sorry Anorak,I'll get my coat

I might be less adverse to the union flag if it represented Wales, I can't be bothered to go into the reasons we're excluded though :D

it dos represent wales, but you're not on there as part of the flag because you're a principality not a kingdom. You are, however, the only country that gets a Prince. Scotland have a Duke, and Ireland don't even get that...

And it's the Union Flag, only a Jack when it's on a boat.

Oh - and it flies on Buckingham Palace when the Queen is NOT in residence, rather then when she is, as is often believed...

I have Union Flags on my front wings, just small ones where the side repeaters would reside on a later car, and I quite like them there...

Me no likies.
Actually, me no likies white rooves either, which is why Matilda is decooperised.
But saying that, I've seen two surf blue min-mins with the RAF roundel on their white rooves & that looks ace :D .
So maybe I don't know what me likes? :P

IMHO I think they look good on red mini's and in the black and white/grey variant on black minis.
However, I think when I get my mini it'll have to be the RAF roundel like Juju said. That looks really good and hasn't been done to death like the union flag. :D

i used to have a giant cooper logo on the roof, i had it specially made in the same two colours of the badge instead of just plain. i deliberately pointed it to the rear of the car so all the lorries could read it (and the police helicopter >_< ). when i sold him, it was one of the first things the new owner took off :D

it was actually just small enough so you couldent notice it too much if you stood close to the car.

Union Jack and Union flag are both interchangable in modern day terms. Yes there are some sticklers who will say UJ only on a boat which used to be the case, but as is the case with most of the english language, it is always changing and now both Union Jack and Union Flag are commonly accepted and can be used in any case.

Im very patriotic, but would only have a flag if i thought it looked good, and not just for the sake of it. And when the football next comes around I'll probably put a tacky plastic St George's flag on the drip rail!
