It has been ages since i have last updated on here!

The Roll Cage is all painted and is installed, the seats are back in it for now but not actually fixed in properly.

I went to minispares yesterday and had a big spend up...

Heres my purchase list!!

Thermostat bolt kit, single tier
Clutch Return Spring
Quick Release Engine mounts
Flywheel Bolt and Locktab
Performance use duplex timing chain
Wiper Motor Park Switch
Wiper Motor Plug and Loom Repair
Valve Cotter Single Groove x8
Countersunk screw for duplex
Copper sump washer
Long Magnetic Sump Plug
Aldon Red A Plus Distributor
Spark Plug For Tuned Road Engines
LUCAS Performance Lead Set
Mintex Pads for Four Pot Calipers
Head bolt kit
+bolts for 11 studs
Clutch Hose Braided One Piece
Clutch Plate AP ROAD RALLY
Radiator Two Core SUPER RADIATOR
Castrol Classic OIL (1 Gallon)
Black Bumper NON Genuine
Delphi Oil Filter
Clutch Slave Cylinder Pre Verto
RC40 Rear Box Mild Steel Large Bore

I Managed to get most of the bits i needed, after minispares i popped to a friends unit and got a couple of extra bits I was after like:
Rotaslide Duplex Timing Gear Kit
A Built up performance differential with upgraded diff pin and planet gears and bushes
Pre verto throwout plunger and heavy duty lever arm

I have also picked up a dellorto 40 on a manifold with the throttle linkages as well off a fellow forum member on here.

I have also picked up a pair of harnesses in black which were brand new but had been a bit water damaged but they were in really good condition and for £40 the pair was a bargain!

I am still waiting for my wheelarches to be sprayed by my old work eventhough the rest of the car was sprayed in may!

I have Decided that with my dashboard i am going to use the space for the stereo i am going to get gauge holder which will hold three gauges as there would not be enough space to mount a stereo due to the webber box, so i will work out where to mount it away from the dashboard.

I think i may get a centre console and adjust it to not be so wide near the pedals as my feet tend to get caught on it when i operate the clutch.
I would then fit my switch panel in like the previous owner of the panel did.

I have recently moved house so i will be moving my mini there soon once the wheelarches are sprayed as i have to keep on to get them done!

Hopefully it will be ready by the middle of next month which is when it is supposed be done by!

I am swapping my mk1 golf project with a friend for some other bits which are...

Front roll cage
13 Row Oil Cooler
Orange Clutch Diaphragm
set of Sportspack alloys
MPi Front Screen
A MK1 Grille
Maniflow LCB & Y Piece

Now i just need to sort out some time to build the engine up, build the gearbox up, put the engine onto the gearbox.
Get the block drilled for 11 studs to match up to the head.
Time up the cam
I need to get all my gaskets for the engine and box, a rebuild kit for the webber and Re Jet it
Not to forget bleeding the brakes and setting up all the suspension steering etc.

Then i need to get the car back to my new bungalow and install the engine and other bits and then choose somewhere to get the engine tuned up.

Then i need to sort out the interior and wiring etc!

Then its time for an mot :/ its been a while since its last one so its a big check list!

But its one i can work my way through bit by bit at home in my spare time, as long as its not tipping down with rain!

I might buy a gazebo or something similar so i can work on it when its a bit gloomy!

Very very tidy and clean, not a huge fan of the 13s. I'm a 10" lad myself.

& those polycarb front windows look so tempting! wouldn't fit a Mcdonalds drivethru though them though :)

once again its been a while with no update on here!

After my rather large shopping list i eventually got it to my work just before all the snow came down, but i had been soo busy i barely had a chance to touch it!

Seen as its quietened down a little in the run up to christmas now i have had some spare time!

So i have now done the following...

Finished building and fitted calipers and pads etc (i just need to get a replacement brass union then they can be bled)
Fitted the front to rear brake hose
Wired and plumbed in the fuel tank and the facet fuel pump (which runs off a secret switch )
trimmed and fitted all four of the arches!

So now its starting to look more like a car!

i just need to get the engine down there and build that up and fit the interior
before engine goes in i gotta cut and then weld in the bulkhead box to fit the webber in there

i have another small list of things to buy! (typically)

nothing too major, i think the most expensive thing will be the k&n for the webber but i wont get that till the engines in so i know what clearance i have

From now on i vow to keep this page updated and now that my phones on charge i will take some pics tomorrow and upload them!

here are some pics! the camera was getting a lot of glare which could be down to a dirty lense or just the bright lights in the workshop!

Today i assembled the hardened diff and numerous other gearbox parts including centre oil pick up and a new worm drive etc

then cleaned up all the surfaces and installed new gaskets left for home with the block on the gearbox and the drop gears attached.

I just need to get hold of a timing disc so i can do the cam timing now! Hopefully ill get one tomorrow

I will keep an update running!

well december 2010 was my last update it feels like a sin as there wasnt too much more done to the mini after that. I ended up spending a lot of time on my sisters mini over the beginning of 2011 and a lot of things changed in life.

The mini is in storage atm with the look to getting my own workshop with my dad and his ford 100e soon so i can finish building it.

Since the last post i timed up the cam installed the fuel pump n tank i think and done some of the interior and some wiring the back seats arent going back in and the engine bay had another lick of paint.

I have had a lot on over the last year with various job changes amongst other things and had lost interest in the mini and even thought of selling it in parts or as a full project at one point.

However right now im enthused to get it done and get it finished.

As far as i can remember i got rid of the 40 and i picked up a hif44 and i was planning on supercharging it at one point but i kicked that out the window although im still running a 276 cam which may be removed again for something more wild.

I decided its not going to be an everyday car so why F**k should i make it driveable, im kind of edging towards a similar line of a miglia car baring a budget in mind unfortunately i cant be quite as extreme but i can try! haha

Pressure charging has gone out the window for me, i have a turbo diesel everyday car which i enjoy driving but id rather just have something raw and petrol burning but yet not too extreme due to costs!

Watch this space as there should soon be some more progress!
