Please give your topic a title that quickly describes your problem. Just putting 'Help my Mini doesn't work' is useless to anyone trying to help.

Model: Mayfair
Year: 1989
Description of problem (please be as in depth as possible):
Hiya guys.
I have a 1989 mini mayfair and 3 pod clocks on the dash (original) I need to get to the back of them so can anyone tell me how they can be removed, diagrams would be good?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Any non-standard parts that might be involved with the problem?

Well the correct method is to undo the screws on the bulkhead (beneath the bonnet) and then lift the whole clock pod assembly towards you. Then you can remove the wiring plugs and spade/bullet connectors, plus of course the speedo cable. I believe you have to push, twist and pull to remove that cable?

Basically don't pull on the fascia pod as it's an instant way of damaging the fascia, it's clips or the mounting part of the unit (nacelle) behind.

The only other effective way is to remove the drivers face level air vent (unscrew the ring cover first) and then remove that part of the dash lining. You also need to carefully peel back the dash lining on the left of the clock pod too and then you can access the screws or bolts (depending on what the factory decided to use that week) and undo them. Once their removed you're then able to pull the fascia and it's rear casing towards you and again you're then able to remove the wiring plugs and speedo cable.

I know there are images here somewhere posted by The Anorak. I'll have a look to see if I can find them.
