hiya guys i have got both these carburettors and switched some parts from the hif 44 to the 38... was just wondering as engine isnt running the best at the minute: what parts are different (size,length etc.) between each carbs??? might help me eliminate what is messin up my engine....

Different sized inlets, dont know the sizes of the top of my head. Have you got the original standard carb to put back on? Could be that changing bits from different carbs could be the problem with poor running.

Also looking at your description you have a stage 1 kit? If so have you fitted an upgraded needle? If not, then im 99% sure thats the problem, you will need to fit a upgraded needle and have it rolling roaded.

thanks for reply.
i pretty much swapped all the small parts on the inside of the carb... it was running a treat before i did all this, i kept the same needle too but happened to adjust the mixture in the cleaning process :lol: i just want it running normal to semi normal before i will venture to a rolling road as the nearest one that will do a decent job is about 2 hours or so away from me./...............
why do people sell me a carburettor that is to big for my engine.... :(
