it seems this guy is using wanted threads to get quick sales then. as well as ebay. i hope everyone gets their money back. im sure theyll be some kind of authority interested in this 'company', whether that be the police, trading standards or anyone else

right, just got off the phone to the guy who has assuered me my clocks will be in the post tomorrow morning, seemed genuine and truly upset that people have shot him down. he apparently works full time and has just been breaking minis as an extra income. so in effect a one man band doing his best.

my next point is from a professional viewpoint (being an accountant in practice):

it is none of anyones business what his tax affairs are - it is between him and HMRC whether he declares this strream of income!
and does everyone on here declare to HMRC the parts the sell on ebay/forum - nuff said.

general observation:

if you break your own mini do you obtain a licence to deal with waste - so c'mon guys dont take the high ground!

other info he gave me - so dont shoot the messenger:

texas:
apparently your parts have been at a ups depot for 2 weeks and you are refusing to collect them!

oli:
apparently you got some random phone calls at 2am from someone in manchester/leeds and thought it was him (he said it wasn't him by the way). he hasn't called you back as didnt want to offend/upset you.

im not taking sides just putting the info i have out in the public domain as others have.

peace out

thanks david.

not shooting you but i didnt think it was him, theres a bit more to the story than that. and it still doesnt excuse awful communication. but he has pm'd me and i have replied so hopefully we shall settle this in private. hopefully as most people will, to avoid teh possibility of things getting nasty and heated here, and also this is supposed to be business, not a free for all

yeah i agree it shouldn't be a free for all and that ALL details should be put on the forum, not just the bad ones for people to grind the ole axe.

i think the guy is trying to do his best, so for those that aren't involved please don't jump on the band wagon

*just strange how admin aren't intervening on this thread (or replying to pm's) as they are with minimanpie*

true however i now feel like im being accused (by him not you) that i accused him of something when i quite simply did not! and in public when it should have been kept private, at least until it had all been sorted in private. this is no way to do business or clear his name. also i dont see why calling me back about parts he said he could supply would offend/upset me. and this 'incident' didnt happen before any chance of communication either. its absoluetly no excuse. i dont think the guy is a con man and i do still think he's genuine, but he certainly isnt making life easy for himself.

Right... I *think* I know who you mean, although I can't be 100% sure there was a guy who I got some wheel nuts off and I nipped down to see him, this was several months ago now... it was a new business but he was at work in his "day job" at the time but kindly just gave me the nuts free of charge which was nice of him, although I may be getting confused with another user with a similar name? Although if it is the same guy I had no problems at all and he seemed decent enough. Think he is on the LCMOC mini forum too? Looks like it is getting sorted now anyway, I hope it does.

HERE.... it is the same guy, and I will hold my hand up and say I've dealt with him as above and didn't have a problem at all.

Seemed very genuine but as someone pointed out is working full time as well as doing the mini bits business on the side so that's why you may not be able to get hold of him.

Also IIRC he works in a noisy factory so if you ring him and he doesn't answer it's probably because he can't hear you ringing! Not making excuses just noting my experience

i know, wasnt having a go at you at all. i know your just passing on info he's given you. my comments are directed at him not you. i dont see why he cant quickly put a post up explaing some things himself considering he was on here and able to pm me, the contents of which i feel should have been kept to that pm. still, im not saying hes not genuine or anything like that and dont want to make enemies with anyone. just trying to get my point across.

He also replied to my wanted ad for a bootlid saying he had one in mint condition for £20 - So i asked for pics he said he would get some but never did and never replied to any of my PMs there after.

well that would have made more sense but nevermind. i dont want to make enemies with him, especially seeing as i havent bought anything off him and dont need it now anyway, i just want to clear up this misunderstanding we have. which i think i have done in my reply to his pm, but he hasnt pm'd back so we'll have to see. but i dont want any fights. and david, youve been a great mate and have helped me through loads of different things, so no worries there. i dont and never have had any beef with you so we're good
