Hiya
maybe a daft question but the rear numberplate mounted to my boot on my 95 sprite is mounted with those sticky pads i think as there are no screws in it? Did they stop putting numberplate holes in the boot lids at some point or will the holes still be there underneath the numberplate?

With all these daft rules about legal numberplates if it can be screwed on id like to do that then at least i can give them what they want come MOT time :teehee:

Also my numberplate is standard size i think its 20.5 x 4.5 inch
A bit like this

but the recess is bigger on the boot and ive seen some minis with bigger plates on the boots.

They can be either stuck or screwed on, doesnt matter. You will be able to see holes from the inside of your boot if there are holes already.

Dan has a bigger number plate, I think he said it was to suit a Jaguar, nothing illegal about it as long as the lettering is correctly spaced, correct font, etc.

Just checked theres no holes inside boot(other side of numberplate ) :)
Theres somebody down the road from my mums got one of those huge old rovers(like a tank) they have the big numberplates too :D

I just think they look better they fill the recess better :)
It must be the 20.5 x 6inch they seem to be the only standard width size i can find thats deeper?

You can drill holes in the boot lid if you wanted it screwed/bolt on, more chance of mr rust sayin hello
