my indicators decided to stop working, not sure why, fuse is fine, horn still works so it isn't the stalk, where do i need to chech for the dreaded dodgy wiring.

Rear heated windscreen wont stay on, seems like a loose connection to me, again, where should i check?

The ignition light has been flashing on and off for the last few months, new fan belt, as tight as possible, no change. Screaming loose connection at me.

The newest and most exciting/worrying problem is that it sounds like i have a nest of young birds in my passengers footwell. Not sure if it suspension or tyres or what but there is a high pitched squeeking when i got over 35mph that sounds just like a nest of chicks :S not really sure how to describe that but it was my best shot. hasn't affected handling and it doesn't make any difference if im going over bumps or on a flat road

please help TMFers

Mike

Well these 'Brake Lights, Reverse Lights, Direction Indicators & Rear Screen Demister' all run on the same circuit and it's the top fuse which is a 35 amp.

The fuse may look okay, but the fuse box contacts may require cleaning or the fuse box itself just needs replacing as the contacts on the back have rusted.

Other than that, try switching your hazard warning lights on and off a few times, as they override the indicators and when that hazard warning light switch fails, it can knock out the indicators too.

The noise could be wheel bearing related, or how about those pesky disc brake stone guards? I binned mine years ago and never looked back.

Their mounting brackets could be broke and so they'll just rub and clatter as you drive along.

Their just not worth replacing and binning them is the best option.

Could be a faulty alternator. You can get it overhauled which will be far cheaper than fitting an exchange unit.
